Dr. Li is a US-Chinese biologist serving as Director and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO). With nearly 20 years of intensive research experience at prestigious American universities, he has conducted in-depth research on oncology and cell therapy at the Cancer Research Center of Northwestern University, the College of Medicine of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), and the Biodesign Institute of Arizona State University. He has published more than 30 high-quality SCI academic papers. Dr. Li boasts profound industrial experience in the biopharmaceutical sector. He has worked for multiple renowned biotech institutions and listed biopharmaceutical enterprises, and has served as CEO and CSO of several biotechnology companies. He integrates top-tier academic research capabilities with extensive practical experience in enterprise operation and R&D management in the biomedical industry.
Trained in biophysics at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, Germany. His research centers on biopharmaceutical process development, scale-up, quality control and analytical methodology across mammalian cell, bacterial and chicken embryo expression systems, supporting biologic clinical filings and GMP commercial manufacturing. He has published over ten peer-reviewed papers in JACS, Langmuir, Analytical Chemistry and other international journals, with invited talks at international conferences. With 20+ years of industry experience in biologic CMC, industrialization and corporate management, he served as Chief Scientist of A-Bio (Singapore, A*STAR ecosystem) and R&D lead of multiple biopharmaceutical companies, and is deeply experienced in CMO platforms for recombinant protein and antibody process development and scale-up. He has led vaccine and biologic R&D, clinical translation and industrialization programs, including WHO-commissioned vaccine programs. His focus is building full-chain CDMO/CMO technology platforms covering cell-line development, process development, GMP pilot and commercial manufacturing, and regulatory filing support. He has led two national S&T major projects (Major New Drug Creation) and holds 6 invention patents.
